possible ways of handling and processing. However, in most cases textile
chemicals can be described as harmless.
Nearly all show an acute oral toxicity greater than 2000 mg kg −1
although they may contain toxic substances in diluted form. Only a few of
them possess an irritant character or even CMT properties. Nevertheless,
many of them have impurities with these properties which are given more
