� support the operation of wireless communications infrastructure;<br />
� advise on radio communication regulations and standards;<br />
� maintain and provide advice on the regulatory framework for the<br />
radio communications industry;<br />
� support market entry, enable firms to acquire spectrum to introduce<br />
new technologies (including radio licensing, spectrum management<br />
and liaison across jurisdictions on radio communications issues).<br />
� support industries that relay radio and television signals via<br />
equipment located in space;<br />
� advise on satellite communication regulations and standards;<br />
� manage government-owned satellite equipment;<br />
� provide advice on the introduction of new technology and the<br />
effects of government policy on the satellite communication<br />
industry (including liaison with international bodies on shared<br />
access to satellite equipment).<br />
� support industries that transmit signals via wire, fibre, wireless<br />
spectrum or cable to a receiver;<br />
� advise on telecommunications regulations and standards;<br />
� provide advice on the introduction of new technology and the<br />
effects of government policy on the telecommunications industry<br />
(including carrier and equipment licensing and consultation with<br />
peak industry bodies).<br />
Community Services includes supporting assistance to citizens in a particular district or those with common<br />
interests and needs; providing welfare services and financial support; and supporting disaster and emergency<br />
assistance.<br />

� support the provision of accommodation and housing to defence<br />
personnel and community members in need (including defence<br />
housing, public housing, emergency accommodation and refuges);<br />
� provide eligibility criteria for services;<br />
� support the assistance to specific community groups at risk of<br />
homelessness (including liaison with areas responsible for public<br />
housing construction to determine short-term and long-term<br />
community housing needs).<br />
� support family units by providing assistance surrounding adoption,<br />
aged care, child care, child and youth support, defence community<br />
support, family reunions and veterans support;<br />
� support targeted services and programs to foster relationships and<br />
develop community self-reliance (including cooperation with other<br />
jurisdictions and non-government organisations).
