The data quality review of 7 seep samples, 2 portal drainage samples, and one ventilator portal<br />

sample collected from May 1 to May 7, 1998 has been completed. The samples were analyzed at the<br />

Analytical Resources, Incorporated (ARI) laboratory in Seattle, Washington for total recoverable and<br />

dissolved metals by EPA Methods 6010A, 7000 series, and 200.8 modified (including the following<br />

metals: aluminum, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, lead,<br />

magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, potassium, silver, sodium, and zinc) and hardness by<br />

EPA Method 6010A calculation. In addition, samples were also analyzed for the following: alkalinity by<br />

Standard Method 2320, total dissolved solids (TDS) by EPA Method 160.1, total suspended solids (TSS)<br />

by EPA Method 160.2, and sulfate by EPA Method 375.2. The analyses were performed in accordance<br />

with the methods specified in EPA Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, SW-846, January 1995,<br />

EPA Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes, March 1983, and Standard Methods for the<br />

Examination of Water and Wastewater, 18th edition, 1992. A validation package containing method<br />

associated QAlQC data and summarized sample data was provided by the laboratory. The following<br />

samples are associated with laboratory work orders ARI# W222 and W264:<br />
