La manzana italiana mira<br />
Alemania y descuida<br />
los Países <strong>del</strong> Este<br />
Italia es el primer productor europeo de manzana gracias a sus más de dos<br />
millones de toneladas puestas en el mercado, con más de una veintena de variedades.<br />
El 34 por ciento de su oferta tiene como destino la exportación, siendo<br />
Alemania su principal cliente. La presión de la oferta polaca condiciona la penetración<br />
en los mercados <strong>del</strong> Este de Europa.<br />

La manzana es una de las<br />
frutas con más tradición en la<br />
campiña italiana. De hecho,<br />
anualmente se producen 2 millones<br />
de toneladas de esta<br />
fruta de pepita. Este guarismo<br />
representa el 18 por<br />
ciento de la producción<br />
europea de los 27, lo que<br />
convierte al país transalpino<br />
en el primer productor<br />
europeo, situando<br />
detrás a Francia y Polonia.<br />
Asimismo, Italia se sitúa<br />
entre los líderes mundiales<br />
y europeos de las exportaciones<br />
de esta fruta de<br />
pepita.<br />
<strong>Las</strong> expediciones italianas<br />
suponen el 34 por<br />
ciento de la producción<br />
con una media de los últimos<br />
años de 690.000 toneladas. En<br />
concreto, 667.000 toneladas<br />
traspasaron sus fronteras en el<br />
ejercicio de 2009. Esta cifra<br />
representa un pequeño descenso<br />
de un cuatro por ciento res-<br />
pecto al pasado ejercicio y un<br />
2 por ciento, si se compara con<br />
la media de los últimos tres<br />
