produces 33,000 tons
The development of
the surface and volume
of business of the organic
production of Frutas Escobi
is well-known. In
the campaign the 2005
the surface of crops was
20 hectares, but next
campaign the increase
was just seven
hectares. Nevertheless,
it is
indeed in the present
campaign
where its bet on this
productive type is
important sinxce it
surpasses 150 hectares
of surface.
Although the
development of the
company has been
always linked to the
production and commercialization
of the courgette,
in biological control
the pepper is the crop
with more production
and surface.
After the pepper, the
product portfolio is distributed
among courgette,
aubergine and tomato.
At the present time, it
commercializes more
than 33,000 tons, of which
more than 45 per cent
are produced with this
method of production.
This company has an
important international
character so it has a big
range of destinations for
its horticultural supply.
Nevertheless, it is important
to mention the sen-
dings to: France, the United
Kingdom, Holland,
Germany and Switzerland,
among others.
These international increases
are caused by the
investments of the campaign
three years ago.
And it is that the company
added to its
refrigerator chamber two
more until reaching a total
of three refrigerator
chambers. “In this way
we guaranteed a better
service to our customers”,
Gabriel Escobar, manager
of Frutas Escobi, explained.
