The ROBEL track motor car 54.22
For many years, the Viessmann model ROBEL track motor
car 54.22 (item 2610/2611) has been working unrestingly on
layouts. It inspires by brilliant driving characteristics and a
patented drive technology, which has been developed for this
purpose and that has been adapted to the flat construction of
this vehicle.
With motorized crane
With the ROBEL track motor car 54.22 DB Netz with motorized
crane item 2620 Viessmann comes up with a new model
for 2 rail version that moves and works. The crane movements
to the left and right are unlimited. It rises from the cargo area
and moves down beneath the tracks.
This opens up completely new possibilities for playing. What
about a scene of track restructuring after a thunderstorm: Obstacles
on the tracks have to be removed. And even bridge
maintenance works are much more fun when they involve the
ROBEL. Prototypical operating conditions!
Analogue and digital
Of course the ROBEL track motor car 54.22 DB Netz item 2620
operates in analogue and digital mode. In digital mode a lot of
functions are provided: Control of warning light, cab lighting,
sound (sound volume adjustable by CV), horn, compressor
sound, light and sound. The crane arm is moved by the cruise
control. Handling is particularly comfortable when the com-
mand unit is equipped with two drive control units – one for
controlling the vehicle and the other for controlling the crane
on a different address. Even analogue users can move the
crane arm. In this mode the warning light, cab lighting, light and
sound are activated, the sound volume is adjustable by CV.
Prototype
The ROBEL is used as construction vehicle and operation
vehicle. A first-class drive section and modern sophisticated
vehicle control system provides high trailing loads. The vehicle
consists of a hydrodynamic operation drive and offers up to
90kN and a maximum buff load of 2.000 t. As an additional
equipment the hydraulic crane acts with 10 mt lift moment.
By combining two to four vehicles the potential trailing load can
be considerably increased. The work and traction vehicle can
be equipped with various types of cranes or a lifting platform
and is suitable for utilizing auxiliary equipment both for winter
and summer service. In winter, for instance, it can be equipped
as a snow plough, or in summer as a mulcher or as a bridge
inspection vehicle. The vehicle is well suited for construction
work on new lines as well as for maintenance of existing tracks.
