RailCom ® with Viessmann technology
Early electrification
The RailCom technology facilitates real feedback to the command station in DCC mode.
RailCom for your model trains
Generally controlling model trains means issuing electric commands: The operator sets a turnout or a signal, changes the speed of a rail
vehicle, changes the direction of travel or turns a function on or off. The operator sees and hears how the commands are executed. The
digital command station, however, does not receive this information. Therefore, the operator must intervene if a command is not executed
correctly. He acts as the control mechanism.
RailCom is the enhanced version of DCC digital systems: Information flows from the command station to the decoder and from the decoder
back to the command station. RailCom decoders transmit information to suitable command stations – like the Viessmann Commander –
regardless if it was a turnout or a signal that has been activated resp. how long the processes of setting accessories may take, how fast
or in which direction a train is travelling.
With RailCom switching commands can be monitored automatically: Thus the operator has an automatic safety monitoring and may concentrate
on the things creating fun: Running trains.
Options of RailCom:
XX
Detect automatically, which vehicle has been put on the tracks
XX
Report, which locomotive is located in which track sector
XX
Slow down or stop trains individually at specific locations Advantages of RailCom ®
(e. g. local commuter train at a regular stop, where an ICE with Viessmann technology:
express train runs through without stopping
X X „True“ feedback on turnout settings and signal aspects.
XX
Turn on the ballast tamping unit of the track maintenance
train e. g. item 2691 at a newly ballasted location
XX
Automatic detection of DCC vehicles.
XX
Allow the operator to change certain settings of a locomotive
decoder while the train is travelling
XX
True feedback on internal parameters of decoders.
XX
Check if a turnout, a signal or a gate has been activated XX
Information regarding faults.
XX
Can read CVs as well as locomotive addresses
XX
Can read decoder parameters such as speed, load etc.
Internationally standardized
RailCom is partially already standardized: In the US e. g. by NMRA.
So RailCom will be future-proof and fully compatible – worldwide!
XX
Internationally standard, at least in part.
XX
Suitable for all scales.
