Installing the <strong>OfficeScan</strong> Client<br />

To configure the IP address that dual-stack clients use when registering to the<br />

server:<br />

Note: This setting is only available on dual-stack <strong>OfficeScan</strong> servers and is applied only by<br />

dual-stack clients.<br />

PATH: NETWORKED COMPUTERS > GLOBAL CLIENT SETTINGS<br />

1. Go to the Preferred IP Address section.<br />

2. Choose from the following options:<br />

• IPv4 only: Clients use their IPv4 address.<br />

• IPv4 first, then IPv6: Clients use their IPv4 address first. If the client cannot<br />

register using its IPv4 address, it uses its IPv6 address. If registration is<br />

unsuccessful using both IP addresses, the client retries using the IP address<br />

priority for this selection.<br />

• IPv6 first, then IPv4: Clients use their IPv6 address first. If the client cannot<br />

register using its IPv6 address, it uses its IPv4 address. If registration is<br />

unsuccessful using both IP addresses, the client retries using the IP address<br />

priority for this selection.<br />

3. Click Save.<br />
