Managing the <strong>OfficeScan</strong> Server<br />

2. Configure pager notification settings.<br />

a. For the Pager number field, the following characters are allowed:<br />

0 to 9<br />

b. Specify a COM port between 1 and 16.<br />

3. Configure SNMP Trap notification settings.<br />

a. Specify either an IPv4/IPv6 address or computer name in the Server IP<br />

address field.<br />

b. Specify a community name that is difficult to guess.<br />

4. Click Save.<br />

System Event Logs<br />

<strong>OfficeScan</strong> records events related to the server program, such as shutdown and startup.<br />

Use these logs to verify that the <strong>OfficeScan</strong> server and services work properly.<br />

To keep the size of logs from occupying too much space on the hard disk, manually<br />

delete logs or configure a log deletion schedule. For more information about managing<br />

logs, see Managing Logs on page 12-30.<br />

To view system event logs:<br />

PATH: LOGS > SYSTEM EVENT LOGS<br />

1. Under Event Description, check for logs that need further action. <strong>OfficeScan</strong> logs<br />

the following events:<br />

<strong>OfficeScan</strong> Master Service and Database Server:<br />

• Master Service started<br />

• Master Service stopped successfully<br />

• Master Service stopped unsuccessfully<br />
