7. Choose one of the following criteria and configure additional settings for the<br />

chosen criteria:<br />

• None<br />

• Specific characters<br />

• Suffix<br />

• Single-character separator<br />

See Customized Expressions on page 9-19 for details about the criteria and additional<br />

settings.<br />

8. Test the expression against an actual data. For example, if the expression is for a<br />

national ID, type a valid ID number in the Test data text box, click Test, and then<br />

check the result.<br />

9. Click Save if you are satisfied with the result.<br />

Tip: Save the settings only if the testing was successful. An expression that cannot<br />

detect any data wastes system resources and may impact performance.<br />

10. A message appears, reminding you to deploy the settings to clients. Click Close.<br />

11. Back in the Digital Asset Definitions screen, click Apply to All Clients.<br />

To add an expression using the "copy" option:<br />

Note: Use this option if an expression you want to add has similar settings with an existing<br />

expression.<br />

PATH: NETWORKED COMPUTERS > DIGITAL ASSET CONTROL > DEFINITIONS<br />

1. Click the Expressions tab.<br />

2. Select a customized expression and then click Copy. A new screen appears.<br />

3. Type a unique name for the expression. The name must not exceed 100 bytes in<br />

length and cannot contain the following characters:<br />

> < * ^ | & ? \ /<br />

4. Accept or modify the other settings.<br />

5. Click Save.
