Uninstalling Data Protection<br />

If you uninstall the Data Protection module from Plug-in Manager:<br />

• All Digital Asset Control configurations, settings, and logs are removed from the<br />

<strong>OfficeScan</strong> server.<br />

• All Device Control configurations and settings provided by the Data Protection<br />

module are removed from the server.<br />

• The Data Protection module is removed from clients. Client computers must be<br />

restarted to remove Data Protection completely.<br />

• Digital Asset Control policies will no longer be enforced on clients.<br />

• Device Control will no longer monitor access to the following devices:<br />

• COM and LPT ports<br />

• IEEE 1394 interface<br />

• Imaging devices<br />

• Infrared devices<br />

• Modems<br />

• PCMCIA card<br />

• Print screen key<br />

You can reinstall the Data Protection module anytime. After reinstallation, activate the<br />

license using a valid Activation Code.<br />

To uninstall Data Protection from Plug-in Manager:<br />

1. Open the <strong>OfficeScan</strong> web console and click Plug-in Manager in the main menu.<br />

2. On the Plug-in Manager screen, go to the <strong>OfficeScan</strong> Data Protection section<br />

and click Uninstall.<br />

3. Monitor the uninstallation progress. You can navigate away from the screen during<br />

the uninstallation.<br />

4. Refresh the Plug-in Manager screen after the uninstallation. <strong>OfficeScan</strong> Data<br />

Protection is again available for installation.
