Every<strong>on</strong>e in a corporati<strong>on</strong>, both management and labor, is resp<strong>on</strong>sible and<br />

accountable for various aspects of the success of any of the organizati<strong>on</strong>’s<br />

endeavors. Executives cannot avoid this accountability when they have<br />

the ability to take acti<strong>on</strong> which avoids a threat, solves a problem, or takes<br />

advantage of an opportunity. Mid-level managers cannot avoid accountability<br />

even when it springs from an acti<strong>on</strong> that might have been taken, but<br />

was not, by a boss. And workers, too, are part of the team. They and their<br />

uni<strong>on</strong> are also accountable for acti<strong>on</strong>s which help or hinder the organizati<strong>on</strong><br />

that employs them. Accountability is enhanced by means of a written<br />

charter and attenti<strong>on</strong> to communicati<strong>on</strong>s both by boss and by employee.
