The third source of intelligence was found in the 7 th Fleet operation orders covering all<br />

maritime operations, including SEA DRAGON. These contained basic information on<br />

the operating environment and enemy defence likely to be encountered. Later and more<br />

detailed intelligence on targets, radar sites, coastal defences and lucrative WBLC zones<br />

were signalled as the information came to hand. Messages of long-term significance were<br />

designated ‘turn over’ messages and sequentially numbered. They were incorporated in<br />

the turnover packs maintained by SEA DRAGON ships for their reliefs and periodically<br />

superseded by printed amendments to the operation orders. This system ensured that<br />

ships assigned to SEA DRAGON or other operations could reliably be made familiar with<br />

changes in the situation when they arrived to join the relevant task group. 795<br />
