The Radio Commission of the Convention be and is hereby authorized to
incorporate under the laws of Georgia, and to conduct its affairs according to a
Constitution and By-Laws which it shall adopt and which shall be in keeping with
the policies and principles of the Convention.
89. For the Committee on Resolutions, Norman W. Cox presented
two resolutions which were adopted:

RESOLUTIONS ON THE COMPLETION OF TWENTY-FIVE YEARS
OF SERVICE BY REV. JACOB GARTENHAUS
Inasmuch as in this month of May, 1946, Rev. Jacob Gartenhaus completes
twenty-five years of service for Christ in the interest of Jewish missions, therefore,
be it resolved by the Southern Baptist Convention in session on Friday,
May 17th—
First—That we express gratitude to God for the abundant labors our Jewish
missionary has rendered during these years, both in arousing Christians to their
responsibility to give the gospel to the Jews, and in pleading with Jews to accept
Christ.
Second—That we call upon Southern Baptists to rise up in a new loyalty
to this phase of our work, in view of the increasing interest of Jews in the gospel
of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the unprecedented opportunity of reaching them
with the message of salvation.
Third—That we call upon God, in His good providence, to grant to Jacob
Gartenhaus strength, vision, and length of days for greater labors in the unborn
future in behalf of his people.

WHEREAS, this nation has just emerged victorious from the most devastating
war in history under the blessing of Almighty God and through the united
efforts of her people, and
WHEREAS, this unity is now endangered by the efforts of groups that are
endeavoring to breed hate and confusion in our midst, and
WHEREAS, the faith we profess and the teachings of the Lord and Master
we love and serve, expressly forbid hatred one of the other, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Southern Baptist Convention assembled at Miami, Fla..
hereby repudiates, and urges the members of the churches of the Convention
to refrain from association with, all groups that exist for the purpose of fomenting
strife and division within the nation on the basis of differences of race.

90. Executive Secretary Watts moved the correction of an error
in the list of Relief and Annuity Board members. The name of Mrs.
Francis Hays should be inserted for the Texas state member, term
expiring 1948. Approved by the Convention.
91. Edward Hughes Pruden was elected fraternal messenger to
the Northern Baptist Convention on motion of Louie D. Newton who
w^as appointed but will be unable to attend.
92. The Convention adopted the motion of Louie D. Newton
appointing William Harrison Williams, R. Paul Caudill, and Clifton
