CHAPTER V. THE PREVIEW, 1946-1968
In this, its 28th annual report, your Board has dealt thus far altogether
retrospectively. First, we have dealt with a period preceding 1918 by over
75 years; second, we have reviewed the period of the beginnings of our organized
Southern Baptist Convention Board efforts, 1918-1925; third, we have
detailed the achievements of the period of our greatest expansion 1925-1944;
fourth, we have presented the current view covering the fiscal year (calendar)
of 1945 and the first quarter of 1946. In this the fifth chapter we are dealing
prospectively with the matter of our probable future achievements.
The motto of David Livingstone was in these words, "I determined never
to stop until I had come to the end and had achieved my purpose." By unfalter-
