have one and to increase the number of churches with Training Union work
to 15,000.
6. To increase the Training Union enrolment in the Southern Baptist Convention

GENERAL FIELD WORK
The general field work of the Training Union Department will reach eve
state in the Southern Baptist Convention in 1946. All field work is done in
co-operation with the state forces. Our workers co-operate with the states in
attending the state Training Union conventions and assemblies, holding simultaneous
associational enlargement campagins, conducting leadership training
schools, holding state associational officers' training clinics, and in attending
general denominational meetings. The design of all the field work is to help all
the churches to set up and operate fully graded Training Unions.
OFFICE PROMOTION
The Training Union Department office maintains contact with the associ
tions, the churches and the state organizations for the full promotion of every
phase of Traming Union work. Mr Emmett Golden, our office secretary, supervises
the work of our office staff. A steady stream of correspondence and free
literature goes from our office to all parts of the Southern Baptist Convention.
STUDY COURSE WORK
The textbook study course work is a vital part of the Training Union c
riculum. The Training Union study course presents a series of graded textbooks
for all age groups. We are promoting the idea of setting up the chu?ch
membership study course under a central theme with a major empnasis for a
