Two sets of natural-color transparencies on Mexico, with accompanying
narration and musical background, recorded on regular twelve-inch discs, are
now in the audio-visual library. The records are the common commercial type
(78-r.p.m.) such as can be played On any phonograph or record-player. Set
number one: "Bridges to Tomorrow"—a portrayal of the majestic beauty of
old Mexico, the living conditions and needs of the people, showing Mexico as a
land of contrasts, where yesterday and today dwell side by side. Set number
two: "A Letter Home"—a colorful report of the glorious work and appalling
needs in Old Mexico presented by one of our missionaries. Here both missionaries
and national leaders are seen at work.

of their heartaches and their hunger, their burdens and their bewilderment,
their loyalties and their longings, their problems and their potentialities such
knowledge opens the gateway to wholehearted co-operation and helpfulness.
To enable Southern Baptists to acquire this knowledge, the Foreign Mission
Board presents each year its graded series of study books.
During the past year the Book Department has been at work preparing the
following books for this year's study:
ADULTS
Now Is the Day—a compilation in which the three regional secretaries Drs.
George W. Sadler, Everett Gill, Jr., and Baker J. Cauthen tell of Southern Baptist
activities in Europe and Palestine, in Latin America, and in the Orient. Rev.
I. N. Patterson discusses the outlook and needs in Nigeria, and Dr. M. T. Rankin
sounds the note of appeal on behalf of all Southern Baptist mission lands.
YOUNG PEOPLE AND INTERMEDIATES
Carved on Our Hearts—written by Saxon Rowe Carver, who knows and loves
the Chinese people. The five intriguing chapter-titles are in themselves a commentary
on the book. They are: "China, Land of Color"; "China, Land of
Charm"; "China, Land of Change"; "China, Land of Contrast"; and "China, Land
