THE SUNDAY SCHOOL
Three Sunday schools have been conducted in Antofagasta and four in the
area of the mines and nitrate plants. These have had an average attendance
of about five hundred. Many of the Juniors and Intermediates have made a
profession of faith, and are being prepared for baptism.
THE WOMAN'S MISSIONARY UNION
During the past year the Woman's Missionary Union has continued to meet
in groups which now number five and which are held at strategic points
throughout the city. The chief emphasis of the year has been on evangelism,
and twelve women have been converted and baptized through their efforts.
The evangelical zeal has led them to rent a hall where one of the Sunday schools
functions, and where a weekly preaching service is held.
The Woman's Missionary Union raised one hundred dollars for the China
Relief fund and helped two girls in our Training School in Santiago.
The Sunbeam bands, and G.A.'s, and R.A.'s have been well attended this
year. Lois Hart, with the help of two Woman's Missionary Union members and
several Y.W.A.'s, conducts this efficiently.
THE GOOD WILL CENTER
Not every year brings great results; some years just sum up to a quiet
steady growth. Nineteen hundred and forty-five has been such a year for
the Good Will Center in Antofagasta. The school has had an increase in the
number of students matriculated, and with many of them we have accomplished
our ideal, that of teaching them to read and write well and to become acquainted
with the gospel message. Our organizations have also progressed, and this
year more of the school children have attended Sunday school, Sunbeam Band
and Intermediate Union than formerly.
Best of all have been the daily vacation Bible schools which the children
attended enthusiastically and which served to reach many children who otherwise
would not have come to the Good Will Center. There was an average
attendance of seventy-four and all the teachers did their best to sow the gospel
seed in the hearts of the children who attended.
Lois Hart, with her background of training, has been very busy with her
clinic work, giving injections, healing sores, and giving first aid. She oiten
works until late at night and is sometimes called out of bed to give an injection.

Someone has called Colombia the "Land of Miracles," which in many ways
is very true The closest of the South American countries to North America,
he has always refied on the United States for ideas as well as consumer goods.
Though Colombia is one of our newest mission fields, barely .f^ years ?id
miracles have been accomplished under the leadership of God's Holy Spirit.
When Rev andT M?s. H W Schweinsberg and family arrived in Barranqmla,
thev found not only that city, but the whole nation ready for the evangelistic
meYsasre of Southern Baptists From the very first, the work has grown and
^e prfspectffor the future are even brighter as the days pass. Under God'*
leadership, Baptists are on the march in Colombia!
