THE SUNDAY SCHOOL TRAINING COURSE
The Sunday School Training Course is a comprehensive course of study
designed to cover the basic needs of workers in Bible study, doctrines, organization,
administration, and teaching. At present there are sixty-one books in the
course, five new ones having been added recently. These new books are: *Why
They Wrote the New Testament by W. 0. Carver, Baptist Distinctives by W.
White, *Christ the Teacher by J. M. Price, *The Nursery Department of the
Sunday School by Orabelle C. Jones, and *The Cradle Roll Department of the
Sunday School by Elizabeth White Von Hagen. Others will be added from time
to time to meet the training needs of our people.
NEW LEAFLET
A new leaflet, Training Better Workers, has been prepared and is ready for
distribution by the Sunday School Department of the Sunday School Board.
This leaflet sets out a suggested comprehensive program of training which is a
co-operative endeavor of the Southwide, statewide, and associational forces. It
outlines a church program of training which is calculated to produce better
workers and better work.

DOCTRINAL EMPHASIS
In March the new book by Dr. W. R. White, Baptist Distinctives, was intr
duced to Southern Baptists. Ten thousand advance orders had already been
placed before the first copy came from the press. The book is being enthusiastically
received. Surely now is the time for Southern Baptists to engage in a
great teaching crusade, in a great indoctrination program that our people shall
know and be ready to propagate the faith we hold. The efforts in April will not
suffice, but throughout the year great use should be made of Baptist Distinctiv
and other similar books in our course until every church has been reached.
