____ A 4 to 6 m tall, loosely branched shrub with short thorn-like<br />

shoots; leaves opposite, oval to elliptic, turning yellow in autumn;<br />

flowers inconspicuous, yellow-green; berries pea-size, black -<br />

an undemanding woody plant for natural planting. St. Zone 4.<br />

____ 2 to 5 m tall shrub or small tree, leaves oval to long, up to 7 cm<br />

long; flowers inconspicuous, appearing in May/June; fruits peasize,<br />
