____ A fast-growing climber, twining up to 7 m tall; leaves are thin,
broadly ovate, 8 to 12 cm long, dark green; flowers white, fragrant,
borne in umbel-like inflorescences in June; fruits 2 to 2.5
cm long, yellowish green, edible, sweet-sour – suitable for walls,
arbours, pergolas etc. Zone 5b.

____ A deciduous, twining climber, up to 3 m tall; shoots smooth, dark
bronze, with chambered pith; leaves alternate, broadly oval, up
to 15 cm long, male plants showing from middle to leaf apex
white to light pink at first, later dark pink-violet, at times this attractive
colouring is to be found on the whole leaves; flowers
white, large, fragrant, appearing in June; fruits from September
to October, up to 2 cm long, gooseberry-like, yellow-green, palatable
- an exceptionally striking climber for areas that are protected
from cold winds. Zone 5b.
