____ A native tree, up to 40 m tall, with a broad, heavy conical crown;
shoots are thick, greyish-green with black winter-buds; leaves
pinnate, up to 30 cm long and appearing late in the season,
turning often yellow in autumn - a valuable tree for parks and
streets. S. Zone 4.
