____ A well-known dwarf spruce, unmistakable due to its regular,<br />

sugarloaf-like growing habit; reaches about 2 to 3 m tall when<br />

older. K, S, Z. Zone 4.<br />

glauca ´Echiniformis´ (= P. alba var. echiniformis) -<br />

____ A dwarf cultivar, growing rather low, flat and bushy with its very<br />

short twigs; the rather rigid needles are arranged radially and<br />

bluish-green - an interesting and lovely dwarf cultivar. K, Z. Zone<br />

____ A valuable dwarf cultivar, originated as a mutation from a twig of<br />

P. glauca ´Conica´; having a similar growing habit to P. glauca<br />

long annual shoots and having finer needles; was awarded the<br />

Gold Medal at the IGA 1973 - an exquisite ornament for rock<br />

and heather gardens, and for planting in troughs and on graves.<br />
