____ A tree-like cultivar, up to 15 m tall, densely and irregularly branched,<br />

with striking red-bronze bark when older, protruding sprigs<br />

grey - a magnificent tree when older, equally valuable for wreaths<br />

suitable as specimen or for the rapid development of high<br />

hedges for wind and visual protection, grows well in calcareous<br />

as well as acidic soils, and is relatively tolerant to industrial pollution.<br />

____ Similar growing habit as C. leylandii, though not so strong-growing;<br />

foliage and young shoots striking golden coloured - a remarkably<br />

lovely conifer, sufficiently hardy, as specimen or for<br />

hedges; a Silver Medallion Award winner at the Flora-Nova,<br />

Boskoop, 1976. H, S. Zone 7a.<br />

leylandii ´Gold Rider´ -<br />

____ A sport out of x C. leylandii with slender, conical growth and very<br />

lovely, striking foliage; surpasses the cultivars ´Castlewellan<br />

Gold´, ´Mellow Yellow´ as well as ´Robinson´s Gold´ in colour<br />

- the best amongst the golden cultivars. H, S. Zone 7a.<br />
