concolor - Colorado Fir, White Fir
____ A fast-growing tree reaching about 25 m with horizontally spreading
branches and light grey bark; needles are very long, bluishgreen
and bending upwards sickle-like - one of the most important
firs, tolerant to dryness, totally hardy and adaptable to city
climate. D, R, S, St. Zone 5a.
koreana - Korean Fir
____ In its native country up to 15 m tall, but only 5 to 7 m tall when
grafted; a slow-growing tree with beautiful, dense growth and
bearing cones when young; needles glossy green, white underneath;
cones numerous, 4 to 7 cm long, violet-bronze when
unripe, later bronze - an attractive fir, requiring little space. S.
Zone 5b.
