mugo pumilio - Dwarf Mountain Pine<br />

____ A cultivar found in the highlands of the mountains of Central<br />

and Eastern Europe with spreading, low-lying growing habit<br />

and branches that grow to different lengths; hardly over 1 m tall,<br />

though up to 3 m across; needles are very short, staying densely<br />

together and dark green - the best dwarf pine for low hedges<br />

and mass plantings, excellent for alpine areas, heather gardens,<br />
