____ A rather fast-growing, French selection; flowers distinctly creamcoloured,
pink and red; a striking cultivar and flowering in abundance

´Newport Red´ -
____ Up to 2 m tall, rather strong-growing shrub, with green shoots in
winter; flowers deep red, appearing in July. H, R, S. Zone 6a.
´Red Prince´ -
____ A selection from Iowa State University, USA, in 1986; up to 1.5
m tall, with broad-growing habit and overhanging shoots; leaves
fresh green; flowers bright, light red, appearing in May to June,
with a strong second flush in August to September - an especially
valuable cultivar, has the most intensive red-coloured tone
and the largest fill of flowers of all cultivars, flowers do not fade
in colour as much as the other cultivars; a very hardy, newcomer
with a promising future. H, R, S. Zone 5b.
´Snowfl ake´ -
____ Up to 1.5 m tall, dense and bushy-growing shrub, with fresh
green foliage and pure white flowers - an interesting variation in
colour to the range of weigelas available. H, R, S. Zone 6a.

____ Growing to about man´s height and with light green foliage; flowers
carmine-pink at first, later carmine-red, only medium-large,
