____ A strong, fast, upright-growing, well-branched tree with broad<br />
crown; branches, shoots and leaves are twisted like S. matsudana<br />
´Tortuosa´, though the branches and shoots are darker and<br />
glossy - a big improvement to the range of available willows. K,<br />

alba ´Tristis´ - Golden Weeping Willow<br />
____ A well-known tree growing up to 15 m tall, with a broad crown<br />
and long, string-like and totally hanging, golden yellow shoots - a<br />
striking park tree, especially suitable as specimen along rivers,<br />
lakes etc. S. Zone 5a.<br />
alba ´Tristis Resistenta´ -<br />
____ Differs from S. alba ´Tristis´ in its intensive yellow-coloured<br />
shoots and its tolerance to rust. S. Zone 5a.<br />

____ 2 to 3 m tall, loosely growing shrub with short, horizontally growing<br />
branches; leaves 2 to 4 cm long, wrinkled, dull green above,<br />
and lower surface covered with greyish felt; small, dense<br />
catkins in April, male catkins egg-shaped, female catkins elongated<br />
- tolerates moist as well as dry positions, but not calcareous<br />
soils. Zone 5b.<br />

____ 3 to 6 m tall, fast-growing shrub or small tree, with broad, loose<br />

plant found in primary vegetation, and an important honeyproducing<br />
