macrantha ´The Bride´ - The Bride Pearlbush
____ A new cultivar, 1.5 to 2 m tall, with very stocky growth and overhanging
shoots, overwhelmingly free-flowering with large flowers
- a valuable plant, being the only low-lying cultivar. S. Zone 5b.
racemosa (= E. grandifl ora) - Common Pearl Bush
____ A slow, loosely-growing shrub, 3 m tall when older, with upright,
funnel-like habit; leaves are entire, 4 to 8 cm long, fresh green
above and light green on the underside; flowers pure white, 4
cm wide, borne in terminal, upright racemes consisting of 6 to
10 flowers - a lovely flowering shrub, flowering freely especially
when older. S. Zone 5b.

sylvatica - Beech, Common Beech, European Beech
____ A stately tree, up to 30 m tall, with dense, broad and heavy
crown; trunk with smooth, grey to whitish-grey bark: leaves fresh
green, turning yellow to light bronze in autumn - a valuable plant

sylvatica ´Dawyck´ (= ´Fastigiata´) - Dawyck Beech
____ A cultivar with a columnar to narrow, conical growth, up to 20 m
tall, just over 3 m wide. S. Zone 5b.
sylvatica ´Dawyck Gold´ -
____ A slender selection (probably from ´Dawyck´ x ´Zlatia´) with
columnar growth; young leaves are golden yellow, later turning
yellowish-green - a lovely, compact-growing beech for small gardens.
