8 Adding an Optional Printer DM400, DM500, DM550 Operating Guide You can connect a Pitney Bowes printer to your mailing system. To add this optional external printer, all you need to do is plug the USB connector from the printer into one of the two upper-most USB connectors on the back of the mailing system base. Your mailing system recognizes the printer as soon as you plug it into the base. The dual USB ports are located on the right back corner of the system base as shown here. 5 • Mailing System Setup 9 5-18 Configuring High/Low Funds Warnings Setting the Low Funds Warning Value Use this option to set a value at which the mailing system warns you that the funds remaining in the IntelliLink Control Centre are getting low. 1. Press the Menu key on the control centre, select Set Up from the main screen, and then select Basic Settings. 2. Select Low Funds Warning. 3. Enter the low value warning amount using the numeric keyboard. 4. Press the Enter key. Setting the High Value Warning BASIC SETTINGS Low Funds Warning High Value Warning Lock Code Supervisor Set Up Timeouts First Low Ink Warning Second Low Ink Warning Note: Services/Features may vary by model, country and or enabled features. NOTE: The internal rating feature ensures that mail pieces are rated accurately and therefore the high value warning will not be triggered for any set high value. This is specific to the Canadian market only. Use this option to set a value at which the mailing system warns you that you have entered a postage value that is more than the amount you are setting here. This feature prevents you from accidentally printing a postage amount that is more than you need. 1. Select High Value Warning. 2. Enter the high value warning amount ($0–$99.99) using the numeric keypad. 3. Press the Enter key. IMPORTANT: Because of changes in the software this feature is no longer operational, even if a value is shown on the screen. Postage values are now derived from the internal rating feature. Consequently, the high value warning prompt will not be triggered even if a specific dollar value has been setup with this feature. SV61964 Rev. A
