Postage By Phone is a Pitney Bowes service that you use to add postage<br />

to your IntelliLink Control Centre. You can access Postage By Phone Monday<br />

through Friday 8 a.m.–7:45 p.m. EST through your IntelliLink Control<br />

Centre. For more information, refer to the Postage By Phone materials<br />

furnished with your system.<br />

If you need assistance with Postage By Phone<br />

If you need assistance, have your account number ready <strong>and</strong> call Postage<br />

By Phone. Refer to the Pitney Bowes Contact Information List for the<br />

phone number.<br />

The IntelliLink Control Centre on your mailing system contains a Postal<br />

Security Device (PSD) that incorporates the latest technology approved<br />

by the Post Office to secure funds. This technology eliminates the need to<br />

perform physical inspections thereby making the system easier <strong>and</strong> more<br />

convenient to use. The PSD contains the funds <strong>and</strong> performs all of the<br />

calculations necessary to print digital indicia that comply with the latest<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

Canada Post licenses your PSD <strong>and</strong> requires a modem inspection of the<br />

PSD. Each time you refill your IntelliLink Control Centre or check your<br />

Postage By Phone® account balance, the Pitney Bowes Data Centre automatically<br />

performs a postal inspection.<br />

If the PSD in your IntelliLink Control Centre has not detected a modem<br />

refill transaction in 90 days, the message “Inspection Due” displays on the<br />

IntelliLink Control Centre main screen.<br />

If the PSD has not detected a refill in 120 days, the message “Inspection<br />

Required” displays <strong>and</strong> you cannot use your system.<br />

In either case you must perform a refill. If you don’t need to add funds at<br />

this time, check your Postage By Phone account balance (see Checking<br />

Your Postage By Phone® Account Balance in this chapter). This satisfies<br />

the inspection requirements.<br />
