Chapter 7 Security <strong>Command</strong>s<br />

This chapter contains various types of security commands in <strong>FTOS</strong>, in <strong>the</strong> following sections:<br />

• Au<strong>the</strong>ntication and Password on page 171<br />

• RADIUS on page 183<br />

• TACACS+ on page 189<br />

• Port Au<strong>the</strong>ntication (802.1x) on page 192<br />

• SSH Server and SCP on page 201<br />

Except <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Trace List functionality, <strong>the</strong>se features are available on all three <strong>Force10</strong><br />

plat<strong>for</strong>ms — C-<strong>Series</strong>, E-<strong>Series</strong>, and S-<strong>Series</strong> (at least <strong>the</strong> S-<strong>Series</strong> models that run <strong>FTOS</strong>), as<br />

noted by <strong>the</strong> following icons that appear under each command icon: c e s<br />

AAA Accounting enables tracking of services that users are accessing and <strong>the</strong> amount of<br />

network resources being consumed by those services.When AAA Accounting is enabled, <strong>the</strong><br />

network server reports user activity to <strong>the</strong> TACACS+ security server in <strong>the</strong> <strong>for</strong>m of<br />

accounting records. Each accounting record is comprised of accounting AV pairs and is stored<br />

on <strong>the</strong> access control server.<br />

As with au<strong>the</strong>ntication and authorization, you must configure AAA Accounting by defining<br />

named list of accounting methods, and <strong>the</strong>n apply that list to various interfaces. The<br />

commands are:<br />
