In addition to the information received by the TPC, the Appellant sent to the City an update of its
operational performance. That update is attached for the Council's review in this appeal as
Exhibit E.
Future Ordinance Revision: This appeal is based on the GMC currently in effect. On June
15,2010, the Council directed staff to review GMC Chapter 5.84 and provide recommendations
to the Council for revisions. Chapter 5.84 should be clarified as to a number of issues including
the term of owner's permits, limiting application periods, placing conditions on approvals of
permits, the perceptions of "monopolies, N and the possible greater need for competition in the
taxicab industry in Glendale. Staff is currently undertaking a review and analysis of these and
other issues surrounding taxicab permits and will return to Council at a future time with
comments and recommendations.
