In addition to the information received by the TPC, the Appellant sent to the <strong>City</strong> an update <strong>of</strong> its<br />

operational performance. That update is attached for the Council's review in this appeal as<br />

Exhibit E.<br />

Future Ordinance Revision: This appeal is based on the GMC currently in effect. On June<br />

15,2010, the Council directed staff to review GMC Chapter 5.84 and provide recommendations<br />

to the Council for revisions. Chapter 5.84 should be clarified as to a number <strong>of</strong> issues including<br />

the term <strong>of</strong> owner's permits, limiting application periods, placing conditions on approvals <strong>of</strong><br />

permits, the perceptions <strong>of</strong> "monopolies, N and the possible greater need for competition in the<br />

taxicab industry in <strong>Glendale</strong>. Staff is currently undertaking a review and analysis <strong>of</strong> these and<br />

other issues surrounding taxicab permits and will return to Council at a future time with<br />

comments and recommendations.<br />
