NOTE: Work unit seniority within the Administrative Section is comprised<br />
<strong>of</strong> one or more persons who perform similar or related tasks or work on<br />
the same task.<br />
19.02 Seniority lists showing Sectional Seniority will be produced and distributed<br />
by the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) a minimum <strong>of</strong> four (4) times per year.<br />
19.03 POSITION POSTING PROCESS<br />
i) Permanent Posting<br />
Notice <strong>of</strong> posting shall be posted in a prominent place in all <strong>City</strong><br />
Departments. The posting will state whether the selection process will be<br />
done for permanent and/or temporary, actual and/or anticipatory staffing<br />
requirements.<br />
In the event that the posting is for an actual permanent vacancy, it will be<br />
posted within five (5) days <strong>of</strong> the vacancy.<br />
Applicants will have fourteen (14) calendar days to apply for such<br />
vacancy. Date <strong>of</strong> posting shall be entered on the notice when it is posted.<br />
All necessary details relevant to the vacancy shall be included in the<br />
notice as per appendix "E".<br />
Active eligible lists will remain in effect for a maximum <strong>of</strong> a six (6) month<br />
period <strong>of</strong> time or until exhausted, which ever comes first. Employees will<br />
remain on the active eligible list until such time as they accept a position<br />
or the list expires.<br />
Future eligible lists will not override current active eligible lists.<br />
ii) Temporary Posting (Administrative Section Only)<br />
An Employee may fill a temporary position created as a result <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong><br />
the following conditions:<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
(c)<br />
Maternity/Parental Leave: The term <strong>of</strong> the temporary posting shall<br />
be for the term <strong>of</strong> the illness or maternity/parental leave but shall<br />
not exceed twelve (12) continuous months.<br />
Projects with a definite term or task: The term <strong>of</strong> the temporary<br />
posting for projects with a definite term or task shall not exceed<br />
eighteen (18) months.<br />
Leave <strong>of</strong> Absence: The term <strong>of</strong> the temporary posting for leave <strong>of</strong><br />
absence shall not exceed twelve (12) months.<br />
