emove the employee from the Apprenticeship program is not made in bad faith,<br />

or in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner, or in violation <strong>of</strong> the Human Rights<br />

Code, the Employment Standards Act or other employment related legislation.<br />

JOB POSTINGS<br />

No apprentice during his/her apprenticeship may apply under the job posting<br />

provisions <strong>of</strong> the <strong>ATU</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> collective agreement to fill any job vacancy.<br />

SENIORITY<br />

Existing <strong>ATU</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> employee shall continue to be a full member <strong>of</strong> <strong>ATU</strong><br />

<strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> throughout the duration <strong>of</strong> the apprenticeship. The apprentice will<br />

continue to accumulate Company wide seniority; however not accrue<br />

Maintenance Section seniority during the apprenticeship. Apprentices who are<br />

new to <strong>ATU</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> shall begin to accrue company wide seniority upon<br />

commencing the apprenticeship program; however shall not accrue Maintenance<br />

Section seniority during the apprenticeship program.<br />

When s/he successfully completes his/her apprenticeship, having both passed<br />

the final examination and accumulated the required number <strong>of</strong> hours, s/he will<br />

establish new Maintenance Section seniority. If more than one employee<br />

completes the qualifications on the same day, the following will be the order <strong>of</strong><br />

seniority:<br />

Employee with most <strong>ATU</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> seniority- first<br />

(11) Employee with highest CFQ exam mark - second<br />

BENEFITS<br />

Where the apprentice is an existing member <strong>of</strong> <strong>ATU</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong>, s/he shall<br />

continue to have benefits as per the collective agreement. Internal employees,<br />

other than <strong>ATU</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> members shall transfer to benefits as per the <strong>ATU</strong><br />

<strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> collective agreement. External applicants entering the apprenticeship<br />

program shall assume benefits as per the terms and conditions <strong>of</strong> the collective<br />

agreement.<br />

WAGES<br />

Wages will be a percentage <strong>of</strong> the top Group 9 rate effective at the time based on<br />

qualifying hours (straight-time hours) successfully completed, as indicated in the<br />

following table:<br />
