Nothing in this Article shall prevent the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) from assigning<br />

work to any Employee in cases <strong>of</strong> emergency or any Employee in<br />

the applicable units for change-<strong>of</strong>fs.<br />

For the purpose <strong>of</strong> this Article, an emergency is defined as a major storm,<br />

bomb threat, evacuation, explosion, fire, request from EMO/Police<br />

Department/Fire Department/etc., an emergency declaration by<br />

Municipal/Regional/Provincial/Federal Governments, and a situation<br />

where delay to take action may cause injury to Employees or the public,<br />

damage to <strong>City</strong> (HSR) property, damage to property <strong>of</strong> others by <strong>City</strong><br />

(HSR) vehicles, delay <strong>of</strong> service, interference with traffic flow,<br />

inconvenience to customers, embarrassment to the <strong>City</strong> (HSR).<br />

ARTICLE 23- NON-COMPLETION OF SCHEDULED RUN<br />

23.01 When any scheduled run is not completed on account <strong>of</strong> failure or<br />

shortage <strong>of</strong> equipment, the operator shall be allowed full scheduled time<br />

for that day.<br />

ARTICLE 24- BONUS FOR PLATFORM TRAINERS<br />

24.01 Operators in charge <strong>of</strong> trainees will be paid an additional one dollar<br />

($1.00) per hour while so operating.<br />

ARTICLE 25- SPARE BOARD<br />

25.01 Spare operators shall refer to regular operators on the signed spare<br />

board. All work for spare operators shall be divided as nearly as<br />

practicable, equally among them, providing all duty reports have been<br />

made as required. Time worked voluntarily by a spare operator on their<br />

day <strong>of</strong>f shall not be taken into account when leveling hours <strong>of</strong> work, nor<br />

shall such time apply against the pay guarantee.<br />

Any run that is vacant up to 1:00 p.m. the day before it is to be operated<br />

will be assigned to a spare operator intact and any premiums applying on<br />

the regular board will vest to the spare operator filling the run. Any run that<br />

comes open after 1:00 p.m. the day before it is to be operated may be split<br />

and assigned to more than one (1) spare operator.<br />

If an operator signed on a regular run reports late and is subsequently<br />

assigned to other work that operator will be booked <strong>of</strong>f to provide a<br />
