Shifts premium<br />

Administrative Employees other than maintenance scheduled to<br />
commence work at or after 3:00 p.m. or before 3:00 a.m. will be<br />
paid a shift premium <strong>of</strong> eighty-five cents ($0.85) per hour.<br />
37.05 A minimum <strong>of</strong> four (4) hours at overtime rate <strong>of</strong> pay will be paid for all callins.<br />
The <strong>City</strong> (HSR) may assign maintenance/Administrative Employees to<br />
a standby schedule to cover evening, night and weekend shifts.<br />
Compensation for Standby Duty will be the equivalent <strong>of</strong> two (2) hours pay<br />
at straight time rates <strong>of</strong> pay for each full shift covered. Standby Duty<br />
commences at regular quitting time and terminates at the regular starting<br />
time <strong>of</strong> the next regular working day. Call-ins will be conducted as per<br />
section 22.19 (b) <strong>of</strong> this agreement. Standby Duty compensation will not<br />
be considered time worked for the purposes <strong>of</strong> section 37.02 <strong>of</strong> this<br />
agreement. Standby Duty compensation is not affected by, nor does it<br />
affect, any other pay and allowances.<br />
37.06 A meal allowance <strong>of</strong> eight dollars ($8.00) will be paid to all<br />
Maintenance/Administrative employees required to work overtime from the<br />
end <strong>of</strong> his regular shift for a further period <strong>of</strong> three (3) hours or more.<br />
This allowance be paid with the next regular pay provided that the<br />
information be received in accounting on or before 12:00 noon on the<br />
Monday <strong>of</strong> the pay week, otherwise it will be included on the following pay.<br />
37.07 MAINTENANCE<br />
A tool allowance will be paid on the twenty-fourth (24th) pay each year to<br />
each eligible maintenance employee provided he has worked at least nine<br />
(9) months in his group in the previous twelve (12) months. This allowance<br />
will be pro-rated over nine (9) months for any employee who has worked<br />
less than nine (9) months in the previous twelve (12) months.<br />

A list <strong>of</strong> tools required for each classification will be maintained by<br />
the Manager <strong>of</strong> Fleet Maintenance. It is recognized that some<br />
classifications may require supplementary lists for specialized<br />
functions and others will require no tools.<br />
Tool lists will be changed as required by the Manager <strong>of</strong> Fleet<br />
Maintenance and revalued once each year using price lists<br />
available on March 31. The value will be an average <strong>of</strong> Snap-On<br />
and one (1) other brand name price list chosen by the Manager <strong>of</strong><br />
Fleet Maintenance.<br />
