ARTICLE 27 - EXTRAS AND CHARTERS SHORT PIECES OF WORK<br />

27.01 Any operator operating an extra, charter, a regular or unassigned run shall<br />

receive a minimum <strong>of</strong> two (2) hours' pay, including allowances, at straight<br />

time, except when the run is consecutive with another piece <strong>of</strong> work, or<br />

except where the next or previous piece <strong>of</strong> work commences or terminates<br />

within the two (2) hour guaranteed period, then the guarantee shall be<br />

limited to the intervening time between the pieces <strong>of</strong> work.<br />

ARTICLE 28 - POSTING OF RUNS<br />

28.01 (a) The Employer agrees that each sign-up board posted will contain a<br />

minimum <strong>of</strong> two hundred and fifty-five (255) weekly runs. The<br />

Employer agrees that a sign-up board <strong>of</strong> run selections provided by<br />

the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) shall be posted. Eligible operators will make their<br />

selection <strong>of</strong> the runs and days <strong>of</strong>f they desire by seniority not less<br />

than four (4) times a year with, as nearly as possible, three (3)<br />

calendar months between sign-ups provided additional sign-ups are<br />

not <strong>of</strong>fered. The <strong>City</strong> (HSR) agrees to present the board to be<br />

signed to the Executive Committee <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Union</strong>. The <strong>Union</strong><br />

undertakes to post, supervise and conduct sign-ups in accordance<br />

with the regulations that may be laid down from time to time to<br />

govern work selections. The signups shall be completed and<br />

returned to the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) within twenty-two (22) calendar days <strong>of</strong><br />

their receipt. Nothing in the foregoing clause shall prevent a sign-up<br />

proceeding by the operators in their seniority, immediately following<br />

the posting <strong>of</strong> the board.<br />

The Employer agrees to pay one hundred and thirty (130) hours'<br />

pay at <strong>City</strong> (HSR) rates in effect for Job Group 10 and 10 (a) for<br />

each <strong>of</strong> the regular and vacation board sign-ups conducted by the<br />

<strong>Union</strong>. The Employer agrees to pay ten (10) hours' pay, at <strong>City</strong><br />

(HSR) rates in effect for Job Group 10 and 10 (a), for each <strong>of</strong> the<br />

statutory and designated holiday sign-ups conducted by the <strong>Union</strong>.<br />

A spare board will be posted at the same time as the regular signup<br />

board <strong>of</strong> (a) above. Any Regular operator may elect to sign up to<br />

work exclusively on the spare board in accordance with his<br />

seniority provided he is in possession <strong>of</strong> a Class "B" license.<br />

A vacation relief board will be posted at the same time as the<br />

regular sign-up board <strong>of</strong> (a) above. Any Regular operator may<br />

elect to sign-up to work exclusively on the vacation board to make<br />

up a vacation relief run for the full duration <strong>of</strong> the regular sign-up.<br />

When signing the vacation relief board no operator will be permitted<br />
