entitled to holiday pay as defined and provided for in Article 13 - then the<br />

minimum guarantee <strong>of</strong> eighty (80) hours shall be reduced to seventy-two<br />

(72) hours for the pay period in question. In case <strong>of</strong> days lost for<br />

disciplinary reasons, there shall be eight (8) hours deducted from the<br />

guarantee for each day lost.<br />

The above guarantee will not apply to spare operators in their first two (2)<br />

months <strong>of</strong> employment.<br />

Only holiday pay, as defined in Section 13.02 will be applied to <strong>of</strong>fset the<br />

minimum pay period guarantee <strong>of</strong> a spare operator in a pay period in<br />

which a designated holiday falls on his normal working day.<br />

25.04 In the event that regular runs are added to the daily schedules between<br />

sign-up periods, or when a regular run having been signed for becomes<br />

vacant, such runs will be posted within seven (7) days for three (3) days<br />

and bid for by seniority. If not filled by the bidding process by a qualified<br />

operator it will be assigned to the junior qualified operator.<br />

25.05 There shall be a minimum book-<strong>of</strong>f period for a spare operator <strong>of</strong> eight (8)<br />

hours between the completion <strong>of</strong> his last assignment on one (1) day and<br />

the commencement <strong>of</strong> his 1st assignment on the following day, except on<br />

a day following a holiday on which a special holiday assignment board has<br />

been in effect.<br />

25.06 No spare operator will be detailed on the assignment sheet for work over a<br />

twelve (12) hour spread. In case <strong>of</strong> emergency due to snowstorms or fires<br />

will make every effort to relieve the spare operator affected as soon as<br />

possible.<br />

ARTICLE 26- COVER TIME<br />

26.01 Cover time shall be that time which an operator is held by the dispatcher<br />

for the purpose <strong>of</strong> covering runs <strong>of</strong> absentees or in anticipation <strong>of</strong> extra<br />

service.<br />

26.02 An operator required to report as a cover operator shall receive a<br />

minimum <strong>of</strong> two (2) hours' pay at straight time rate for the time on report if<br />

no work is available.<br />

26.03 The operator's rate shall be paid for covering time. Payments made under<br />

this section shall apply against any minimum guarantee received under<br />

Article 25.<br />
