vacation. The period <strong>of</strong> vacation so displaced shall be rescheduled to<br />
another time mutually agreed between the Employee and the Employer.<br />
47.02 (a) The <strong>City</strong> (HSR) will consider applications for leave <strong>of</strong> absence<br />
provided they are made, in writing, to the Divisional Director, or his<br />
designate, but the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) will not grant leave <strong>of</strong> absence to any<br />
Employee covered by this agreement for a longer period than sixty<br />
(60) days with retention <strong>of</strong> seniority without first discussing same<br />
with the <strong>Union</strong> Grievance Committee.<br />
Where leave <strong>of</strong> absence is granted for reasons other than personal<br />
sickness or accident, the Employee shall be liable to the <strong>City</strong> (HSR)<br />
for all welfare payments made on his behalf in any month in which<br />
less than five (5) days work is performed for the <strong>City</strong> (HSR).<br />
<strong>Union</strong> dues must be paid by the Employee before the leave <strong>of</strong><br />
absence begins.<br />
In the case <strong>of</strong> an approved pregnancy or parental leave, the <strong>City</strong><br />
(HSR) agrees to make payments necessary to maintain in force the<br />
benefits provided under Sections 16.02, 17.01 and 47.01 unless the<br />
Employee gives notice in writing that they do not intend to pay their<br />
contributions, where applicable. Seniority continues to accrue<br />
during pregnancy or parental leave.<br />

During a period <strong>of</strong> sick leave wherein an Employee qualifies for sick<br />
pay, the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) agrees to make payments necessary to<br />
maintain in force the benefits provided under Section 16.01, 16.02,<br />
16.03, 17.01 and 47.01. The Employee will be responsible to<br />
reimburse the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) only for the Employee's share accrued.<br />
Any operator who is granted a leave <strong>of</strong> absence <strong>of</strong> sixty (60) days<br />
or less will not be required to vacate his run.<br />
ARTICLE 48 - DURATION<br />
48.01 This agreement shall be effective as <strong>of</strong> the 1st day <strong>of</strong> January, 2011, and<br />
shall continue in full force and effect until the 31st day <strong>of</strong> December, 2014,<br />
and from year to year thereafter unless in the year 2014 or in any year<br />
thereafter not more than ninety (90) days and not less than sixty (60) days<br />
before the 31st day <strong>of</strong> December in such year either party shall furnish the<br />
other with written notice <strong>of</strong> termination or proposed revision <strong>of</strong> this<br />
Agreement.<br />
