Hours <strong>of</strong> Work Limits<br />

Employees may work up to but not exceed twenty-four (24) hours<br />

per week (a week being Sunday through Saturday) except when it<br />

is otherwise mutually agreed or in the case <strong>of</strong> emergencies as<br />

defined in article 22.19(e) and the mediated settlement dated<br />

February 27th 2007.<br />

• There is no guarantee <strong>of</strong> work hours.<br />

19.15 If a new position is established in the future, the parties shall meet to<br />

discuss if such position is appropriate for inclusion in Schedule "A".<br />

If both <strong>City</strong> (HSR) and <strong>Union</strong> agree that the new position or classification<br />

is appropriate for inclusion in Schedule "A", and then the <strong>City</strong> (HSR)<br />

agrees:<br />

(a) That the rate for such position or job classification is subject to the job<br />

evaluation process.<br />

(b) That the said position or job classification is to be included in and form<br />

part <strong>of</strong> Schedule "A".<br />

(c) That the said position is to be filled in accordance with Article 19.04 <strong>of</strong><br />

the collective agreement.<br />

19.16 In the event that an Employee in Group 1 to 9 is laid <strong>of</strong>f, they shall be<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered the opportunity to qualify for any vacancy as an Operator. The<br />

Employee is required to meet the standards set by the Employer for new<br />

Operators and the Employer is required to provide training to the laid <strong>of</strong>f<br />

Employee in a manner similar to any new applicant as an operator. In<br />

addition, should the <strong>City</strong>/HSR <strong>of</strong>fer a retraining program to other<br />

Employees within the <strong>City</strong>/HSR to assist them in finding new employment,<br />

members <strong>of</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>107</strong> who have been laid <strong>of</strong>f will be <strong>of</strong>fered access to<br />

such retraining.<br />

ARTICLE 20- DEDUCTION OF UNION DUES<br />

20.01 During the lifetime <strong>of</strong> this agreement the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) shall deduct from the<br />

pay <strong>of</strong> all Employees covered by this agreement who are working in<br />

classifications covered by this agreement whatever sum or sums may be<br />

authorized for <strong>Union</strong> dues and assessments. New Employees will have<br />

the first deduction taken on the first "pay day".<br />
