To facilitate the assignment <strong>of</strong> overtime, Employees wishing to be<br />
excluded from all overtime or specific days shall notify the<br />
appropriate Manager <strong>of</strong> Fleet Maintenance in writing. The Manager<br />
<strong>of</strong> Fleet Maintenance will maintain overtime seniority lists and<br />
supply the Maintenance <strong>Union</strong> Executive with a current copy <strong>of</strong> any<br />
list as required. Changes will be effective seventy-two (72) hours<br />
from receipt <strong>of</strong> notice.<br />
Nothing in this Article shall prevent the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) from<br />
assigning work to any Employee in cases <strong>of</strong> emergency or any<br />
Employee in the applicable units for change-<strong>of</strong>fs.<br />
For the purposes <strong>of</strong> this Article, an emergency is defined as a major<br />
storm, bomb threat, evacuation, explosion, fire, request from<br />
EMO/Police Department/Fire Department/etc., an emergency<br />
declaration by Municipal/Regional/Provincial/Federal Governments,<br />
and a situation where delay to take action may cause injury to<br />
Employees or the public, damage to <strong>City</strong> (HSR) property, damage<br />
to property <strong>of</strong> others by <strong>City</strong> (HSR) vehicles, delay <strong>of</strong> service,<br />
interference with traffic flow, inconvenience to customers,<br />
embarrassment to the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) or failure to perform the intended<br />
role <strong>of</strong> the Maintenance Division.<br />
Employees will not be assigned overtime, except for emergencies<br />
and road-calls, that will result in the accumulation <strong>of</strong> more than<br />
eight (8) hours overtime in any two (2) consecutive days or when<br />
the Employee will not have a full shift between work periods.<br />
ADMINISTRATIVE<br />
22.11 This Article is not to be construed as a guarantee <strong>of</strong> an annual wage or <strong>of</strong><br />
five (5) days work in any week.<br />
22.12 Administrative Employees will be required to work those hours<br />
necessary to perform the duties assigned to them so as to meet the<br />
respective laid-down time-tables for completion <strong>of</strong> said duties.<br />
Where mutually agreed by both the <strong>City</strong> (HSR) and the <strong>Union</strong>, the work<br />
week may be other than five (5) days work in any week.<br />
22.13 Under normal circumstances salaried Employees will be required to work<br />
five (5) days per week and will be given two (2) consecutive days <strong>of</strong>f. If the<br />
exigencies <strong>of</strong> the work require any Employee to work overtime or on a<br />
regular day <strong>of</strong>f, compensating lieu time (equivalent to time and one half)<br />
<strong>of</strong>f will be granted as soon as possible thereafter, or, alternatively, elect to<br />
be paid at time and one half for prior-approved overtime in excess <strong>of</strong> one<br />
