and were satisfied with the formal project period. One mentor took a neutral stance<br />

and she was neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.<br />

One mentee took a neutral stance on the matter of duration, but she was not satisfied<br />

with the period. She argued that the project period was “too short to get to the practical<br />

implementation”. The other two mentees thought it was important to have a fixed<br />

period of time but were dissatisfied with the duration chosen. The remark was the<br />

same: “I would rather have a longer period of time, for example nine months or a year,<br />

to spread the time and to anticipate to new developments and opportunities that arise”.<br />

All mentors thought it was important to have networking events and were satisfied with<br />

the dinner. One of them made the remark that she would “rather have had a formal<br />

final meeting in which each mentee gives a summary of the realizations and a plan for<br />

the future”. Another mentor suggested that “networking among mentors is important<br />

for good practices, one or two meetings per year on a voluntary basis”.<br />

The mentees also thought a network meeting with all participants was important. Two<br />

of them filled out the questionnaire before the dinner. The other mentee said to be<br />

satisfied with the dinner, but mentioned “it was pleasant but I maybe expected more of<br />

it with respect to the content”.<br />

Programme outcomes<br />

Both mentors and mentees were satisfied or very satisfied with the number of meetings.<br />

The same goes for the length of the meetings. None of the mentors prepared the meetings.<br />

The mentees did prepare them.<br />

All mentors were satisfied or very satisfied with regard to the time invested in the project.<br />

Two mentees were very satisfied with regard to the time investment/return, one<br />

mentee took a neutral stance.<br />

Relationship outcomes<br />

Both mentors and mentees were satisfied to very satisfied with the content of the meetings.<br />

All mentors mentioned they got satisfaction out of the meetings. Only one out of<br />

three mentees said that all of the meetings provided her with “new insights”.<br />

Two mentors and two mentees made clear they wanted to continue the mentoring<br />

meetings after the project period. Three mentors were willing to be a mentor again for<br />

a different mentee. None of the mentees intended to search for a mentor at her own<br />

initiative.<br />

Performance and appreciation of mentoring at the university<br />

One mentor had learnt something about herself/for herself. The two other mentors<br />

answered negatively. One mentee mentioned she had a better idea about her career<br />

perspective after the project. Two other mentees said that their career perspectives did
