to find this more important than staff from exact sciences. Due to the content of their<br />

work, staff belonging to human science faculties are possibly more aware of the gender<br />

issue and more supportive of higher participation by women in important sections of<br />

an organization. We also stated that LGB staff attach more importance to an LGB<br />

guide than hetero staff members do. As for the use of extra channels to attract more<br />

ethnic minorities to job vacancies, this is considered significantly more important by<br />

staff with a non-Belgian nationality than by the others. The item about mentoring for<br />

PhD students got approval from over 90% of the professors and PhD students. Thus, it<br />

appears that people from the target groups appreciate the initiatives taken on their<br />

behalf.. In general people from minority groups are more positive with respect to equal<br />

opportunities and diversity. A more detailed summary of the results can be found in<br />

table 1.6 in the Appendices.<br />

The frequencies (in %) of knowledge and use of services for staff are summarized<br />

in table 10 below. This part was completed by only 90% of the respondents.<br />
