Barbosa's plate is well matched by Rose & Russell 20080. In<br />

the Pickel<br />

specimens the leaves are more nearly hastate and less<br />

densely glandular-ciliate. This variety is perhaps too close to the<br />

following one.<br />

Stem slender, glabrous, rarely sparingly hirsute; stipules semiannular,<br />

the segments filiform; leaves subhastate, rarely subentire<br />

(middle lobe ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, the lateral lobes broadly<br />

ovate, subacute), entire or remotely serrulate, thin-membranous,<br />

dull, sparingly strigillose beneath with the hairs glandular-thickened<br />

at base; bracts about 2 cm. long, tripinnatisect, the segments not<br />

closely interwoven; ovary glabrous; fruit about 1.5 cm. in diameter,<br />

yellow.<br />
