Stem slender, glabrous; leaves hastate (midnerve: lateral nerves,<br />

5:1.5-2, the lobes subacute), appressed-hirsute above, hirsutulous<br />

beneath; ultimate segments of bracts not closely interwoven; flowers<br />

purple; ovary glabrous; fruit about 2.5 cm. in diameter, reddish.<br />

TYPE LOCALITY: Nahulingo, Sonsonate, Salvador.<br />
