Chapter 2. Using ColorWise Pro Tools Calibrator Now we will begin the steps to calibrate the press using the ES-1000 spectrophotometer. 1. Print the appropriate set of calibration patches on the press (follow steps step 1.6.a through step 1.6.h on page 2-27). The choices are: SDPES1000_FL.ps for the Front Left SDPES1000_FR.ps for the Front Right SDPES1000_BL.ps for the Back Left SDPES1000_BR.ps for the Back Right or choose to print them all or any combination of some. Note: If you have a 1 up simplex or duplex system, your heads are considered to be the LEFT set 2. Retrieve the print from the press. 3. Open CWPT; click the Calibrator button. 4. Set section #1, Select Measurement Method, to be the EFI Spectrophotometer ES-1000. 5. Set section #2, Check Print Settings, to be the desired calibration set. There are 8 different calibration sets for the press and each of your output profiles are associated with one of them. The 8 sets are: Type Media Your Paper Name Set 1 Custom-A Plain Paper No Change - LIN Only Set 2 Custom-A Treated Paper Set 3 Custom-B Plain Paper Set 4 Custom-B Treated Paper Set 5 Custom-C Plain Paper Set 6 Custom-C Treated Paper Set 7 Custom-D Plain Paper Set 8 Custom-D Treated Paper To see how output profiles are associated with a calibration set, see page 2-12. 6. In section #4, Get Measurements, click Measure. The following window will appear. Page Type = The set of patches which you printed Paper Size = 7.5x14 2 - 4 CS600 System Controller
Chapter 2. Using ColorWise Pro Tools Calibrator 7. Click Measure. An information dialog appears: 8. Place the ES-1000 in its cradle so it can measure the white point attached to the cradle. Click OK. The EFI Spectrometer Measurement dialog box appears. Directions for performing white point calibration appear in the Status field. 9. Press the button on the side of the ES-1000. The white point calibration measurement is displayed. 10. Click OK. The next screen will instruct you to take the measurements. 11.
