Chapter 2. Using ColorWise Pro Tools Spot-On CHANGE RECIPE Method 1: To change a CMYK RECIPE for a spot color, double click the appropriate C, M, Y or K column next to the color name. The field becomes editable. Type in the new value for that component. Note: The values in the C, M, Y and K fields are in percentages from 0-100%. If you wish to enter the new value in the 0-255 range, use the following method. Method 2: 1. To change a CMYK RECIPE for a spot color, double click the color name in the list. The current color appears in the center patch of the new window. 2. Double click the center patch and the Set Center Patch Color dialog box appears. 3. Select Percentages (0-100) or Device Codes (0-255) under the “Enter CMYK values as:” section. Percentages Enter the new CMYK values between 0-100% in increments of 0.5% Device Codes Enter the new CMYK values in whole numbers between 0- 255 4. Click OK. 2 - 16 CS600 System Controller
Chapter 2. Using ColorWise Pro Tools Spot-On IMPORT FROM DEVICE You can also import a color to Spot-On by scanning a patch with the ES- 1000 spectrophotometer. 1. Choose Start from the Instrument menu. The ‘Choose Instrument’ dialog box will appear: choose the ES-1000 from the Instrument drop-down menu and the Port will automatically gray out to Auto. 2. Click OK and an information dialog will appear. 3. Place the ES-1000 in its cradle so it can measure the white point attached to the cradle. Click OK. When the dialog disappears, the device is ready to read. 4. Place the device over a color patch and press the button on the side of the device. The measured CMYK values are imported into Spot-On as follows: • If an individual color is selected in the color list, it updates to the measured color. • If a group is selected in the color list, a new color with the measured values is created within the group. • If the Spot-On Color Search window is open, the center patch updates with the measured values, and the neighbor patches updates accordingly. • If the Set Center Patch Color dialog box is open, the measured values are imported into the CMYK entry fields. 5.
