Patterns in Agricultural Mechanization<br />

Two clear patterns are observed. The first is<br />

observed with the majority of farmers, particularly<br />

those who own equipment for the first time. They<br />

want equipment which is increasingly specialized<br />

and light weight for many reasons, the most<br />

important of which are:<br />

(1) The equipment in question is generally<br />

fabricated locally and the terms of payment<br />

are generally more reasonable.<br />

(2) The limited capacity of their traction animals;<br />

weakened by their health, and the<br />

limited availability of forage in the dry<br />
