members were employed by Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District in 1996-<br />

97, while 38.7 full-time equivalent staff members were employed in 2006-<br />

07, yielding a net decrease of -3.5 full-time equivalent professional staff<br />

members or -8.3% over the nine year span of time.<br />

A review of Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District’s student enrollment from<br />

1996-97 through 2006-07 reveals a decline in student enrollment from 237<br />

to 177 students, a net loss of -60 students or -25.3%. When comparing<br />

changes in the school district’s student enrollment and full-time equivalent<br />

professional staff member losses between 1996-97 and 2006-07, the<br />

Project Consultants concluded that Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District has<br />

not synchronized its reduction in full-time equivalent professional staff<br />

members with the organization’s student enrollment losses over the nine<br />

year span of time.<br />

4.6 Pupil/Teacher Ratio Trends<br />

The pupil/teacher ratio trends for the <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-<br />

Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District between<br />

1996-97 and 2006-07 are reported in Tables 14-B, 14-LH, and 14-W.<br />
